Portal: No Escape (Live Action Short Film by Dan Trachtenberg)

Trey August 29, 2011 3

Whilst we are enormous fans of 0 budget films (like those written by our dear friend Oli) we love indie productions of all kinds.

This little beauty popped up last week and has taken the internet by storm:

Taking Portal’s massive following out of the equation and making no mention to meme’s I strongly feel that every film fan should be extremely excited by Portal: No Escape. The production values are truly outstanding; I’m talking genuinely mind blowing. It’s atmospheric, engaging and for a few minutes I found myself completely engrossed. Bigger names than my self say this film should be made into a full length feature film. With backing from Gigaom, Entertainment Weekly and Kotaku (amongst others) throwing out rave reviews it’s hard to imagine a smart young production house not picking up on Dan Trachtenberg’s masterpiece (because let’s face it, that’s what it is)

Quality wise this is definitely on par with the Halo: ODST promo piece or the Dead Island reveal. The only difference is those had major financial backing behind them.

Dan Trachtenberg should be unbelievably proud of what he has created.
